Paulista Invaders is a captivating game art installation designed to raise awareness about the coexistence of bicycles and cars on urban streets. Inspired by the iconic 1978 game Space Invaders, developed by Tomohiro Nishikado, this project was displayed on the facade of the FIESP building, merging nostalgia with a powerful social message.

In Paulista Invaders, players control a bicycle, navigating it horizontally across the bottom of the screen. From the top, cars descend menacingly, and the bicycle must defend itself by shooting flowers. As the flowers hit the cars, they disintegrate, purifying the air and transforming the background color. The goal is to prevent the cars from reaching the bottom of the screen, symbolically protecting the space reserved for bicycles.

This interactive installation transforms a classic arcade game into a thought-provoking experience, encouraging drivers to reflect on the importance of sharing the road and respecting cyclists. The final piece brought illuminated one LED facade at Avenida Paulista, one of the most important avenues in São Paulo.
