To commemorate the anniversary of the Institute of Humanities, Arts, and Science at the Federal University of Bahia, I was invited to design an interactive logo system. This system represents the institute's diversity and interdisciplinary perspective, allowing each laboratory, group, and professor to generate their own version of the logo by simply typing their name.

The "IHAC Logo" concept was born from a collaborative effort between the NEXT lab and the ICON lab, aiming to refresh the visual identity of the institute as it celebrated its 15th anniversary. This redesign process was deeply influenced by the interdisciplinary nature of the institute, which operates at the intersection of various fields, fostering the exchange of knowledge and ideas. The new logo needed to embody this spirit of interconnectedness and interaction, reflecting the diverse and collaborative environment of IHAC.

Inspired by the concept of interdisciplinarity, the design team employed visual elements akin to a Venn diagram to represent the different areas and their intersections within the institute. This approach symbolizes the complex, collective behavior that emerges from the interaction of simpler components, akin to a multicellular organism. The visual references also drew from Truchet tiles, where simple shapes can be rearranged to create intricate patterns, emphasizing the dynamic and multifaceted nature of IHAC's community.
